Website Standards

Website Standards is a catchall term for the various standard-uses and best-practices of the various technologies used to make websites. These standards exist to help create a more unified appearance and usages of the Internet so that all Internet browsers, such as Firefox, as well as help those with special limitations or requirements use websites.

There is a big purist reason to want to follow website standards. However, there is also a reason that makes it good business sense as well. The better you follow web standards, the more people are able to access your website properly. As any business person will tell you, the more potential customers you have, the more actual customers you will gain. Azure Ronin is dedicated to following the most up-to-date web standards for both of these reasons.

If you'd like to read up more about web standards, check out The Web Standards Group, a group dedicated to providing information and education about web standards. You can also check out the authority on all things web, the W3C.

Website Accessibility

Website Accessibilty refers to the ability to, and the techniques to improve this ability, to access a website. There are certain techniques and coding styles that designers and developers can use to help make a website easier to navigate and access. This is especially true for those that have certain disabilities, such as limited vision, color blindness, and physial impairments like arthritis.

Azure Ronin is committed to bringing the web to everyone and always uses the best methods to allow the greatest number of users to be able to access websites it designs with ease. If you'd like to learn more about the specifics of Website Accessibility, check out the Web Accessibility Initiative from the W3C.

Go Green!

Our environment is endangered because of our way of life. While we can't just turn off all of our electrical and fossil fuel-powered devices and just go live in the woods, there are some simple things we can do to help our environment and protect it for future generations to enjoy.

At Azure Ronin we've looked at some of the things we can do to reduce our own impact on the environment. Nearly all of our staff has switched to using laptops instead of desktops, which use significantly less electricity. We also make sure we never leave them on overnight to waste electricity. We also try to reduce the amount of paper we use by keeping as many communications as we can (especially internal) through email instead of printing memos and other documents.

We even offer a "Go Green!" discount for our clients. Those clients who purchase their hosting through us and pay to have it carbon offset will receive a discount on all of their purchases from us.
